Priority One Emergency Medical Service has maintained a strong commitment to providing professional ambulance services since its inception in 1989. As composed in 1989 by Sandy Kolesar-Peppler, founder of Priority One, in the above Mission Statement, our commitment to providing professional, compassionate, exemplary pre-hospital care was our basis then, and remains our foundation now.
Priority One Emergency Medical Service is a Pennsylvania State licensed Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance service. As a local business, Priority One employs an average of 58 staff members, including administrative personnel, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, Dispatchers and automotive mechanics.
Priority One EMS is 9-1-1 Emergency response for the boroughs of Braddock, East Pittsburgh, North Braddock and Rankin. Priority One provides emergency, non-emergency ambulance and Wheelchair Van service for over 20 Nursing, Personal Care and Assisted Living facilities in Allegheny County and multiple physician offices, including Internal Medicine, Orthopedics and Cardiology specialties. Residents and businesses of any locality may request emergency medical services by calling 412-664-9000.
Through the Department of Education, Priority One is a Community Training Center (CTC) under the guidelines of the American Heart Association and a Continuing Education (Con Ed) provider with the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Community based Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training is available to schools, businesses, offices and other public entity groups upon request for a minimal charge.
Priority One EMS is a member of the Pennsylvania Region 4 Strike Team, who may be deployed to aid in disaster relief throughout the eastern United States, following devastation due to natural and catastrophic events.
Priority One Emergency Medical Services is proud to be an active member of the EABA and has the highest regards for the professional business men and women associated with this organization. We believe that the values and principles contained in our Mission Statement is also apparent in the businesses represented by the EABA. In this extremely difficult economic environment for business, we appreciate the East Allegheny Business Associations efforts to keep business in our area strong.
