Margaret “Peggy” Bianchi has chosen to close the doors on New Steps Rehab BUT anyone who knows her also is aware that if she closes one, she opens another. Peggy will continue the Pilates classes under Inner Strength Yoga, in the Rita’s Plaza.
She was a Board Member of EABA from 1999 – 2002, and she believed in the Student of the Month program. Peggy was adamant about the criteria needed and she introduced the importance of the G.P.A. and Class Rank for the students to share with the Board in 2000. Most of the Board said it was a great idea, a few wanted to think about it and one “little grey haired lady” asked WHY. (I think she is still on the board)!!
Our good wishes go to Peggy and we hope she knows there is always an open invitation for her to attend our EABA meetings.
Richard’s presentation centered around new changes to the tax code and filing your taxes.
East Allegheny Business Association welcomes all businesses, big and small. We have been told by members and guests that EABA is one of the best luncheon meetings they have ever attended–great fellowship and good food. The membership dues are affordable at $50 for the year. The EABA year is from July 1 thru June 30. We have maintained the $50 fee since 2011.
Our Annual Scholarship Awards are presented to six East Allegheny seniors at the May meeting. The funds for the awards are made possible due to the generosity of our members and friends who donate the best items for the Autumn Auction held in October. Thank you to all.

There was no member of the month for January. The December meeting was informal and the members were enjoying each other and the delicious meal. So was the “Lady” at the sign-in table and she forgot all about the business cards (that would be me)!!

I hear people giving financial advice all the time. Most of them aren’t rich.
Those who are rich would disagree with what many charlatans preach. The other day, I came across an article proclaiming, “Skip your lunch, don’t buy expensive coffee, cut your hair less often.” This is a horrendous way to live your life and it promotes poverty. It’s smart to be thrifty, but you don’t want to be cheap. You should never do anything that will deprive you from your joy.

When thinking of how to keep your website fresh, don’t underestimate the value of evergreen content, especially in a world where the pace of consumption moves as fast as it does.
If you publish on a weekly basis, you know it can be hard to keep up. Some days you’re strapped for time or resources or maybe the creative well has just run dry. But new content is what’s expected of you and your website, right?
Well, instead of fretting over the task of creating something from scratch every day, put some of your older, more popular pieces back to work.
Here are three ways to get more… >>Click here to read the full article.
1. Develop authentic relationships
2. Develop guiding principles or a vision to stay on target
3. Plan, but be flexible
4. Hire the right people regardless of the role
5. Foster transparency and teamwork

- The 12 most persuasive and demotivating words in the English language.
- How to write powerful and persuasive emails, proposals, presentations, and letters that successfully sell you, your ideas, products or services every time.

PA has enacted new collection system for the employee wage tax (Act 32). Generally it’s 1% or so as stipulated by your local municipality. In most cases, individuals would pay that directly to their local tax collection agency…. Keystone, PAMS, etc. Starting Jan 1, 2012, employers are responsible for witholding the tax from employees paychecks and submitting the witholding to the assigned collection agency. In our region Keystone Collection Group is the designated agency.
Keystone will be used by most, if not all, of the EABA members:
